Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Xenogears
I'm not sure what a lot of these haters are saying I've had this game for many years way before the greatest hits came out and to this day I still go and play it. This is my top 3 of favorite RPGs its so good great story and you can jump on a old RPG its amazing

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - xenogears
the game was in better condition than what it was posted for im happy with it

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Greatest RPG ever, not named Final Fantasy
Xenogears is a classic RPG that I rank #2 all-time, only behind Final Fantasy VI. The game is a thought-provoking tale and is one of the greatest RPGs stories ever told. The characters deal with a variety of issues which include class struggles, war, religion, romance and moral dilemmas.

The gameplay is unique also, as it involves human hand-to-hand combat as well as mech ("gear") combat. Combat switches between the two seamlessly. Additionally, many upgrades are available for the gears, which facilitates deep customization. In my opinion, the game was way ahead of its time, and is far superior to the Xenosaga "sequels" that followed on the PS2.

At the time, the fusion of 2D sprite and 3D graphics pushed the PSOne's limits, and to this day, the game still looks great. My only complaint with the game is that the gear battles tend to be on the easy side, while the human battles were typically more difficult. There could have been better balance between the two.

Regardless, Xenogears is a must-own if you consider yourself an RPG fan.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Classic
Xenogears has all the right tools to be a great RPG, and it is. It has a great story and a very thrilling fighting system. Do yourself a favor and get this game. Yes, it is a little pricey but it is worth it.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Epic RPG that will NEVER get "out-dated"
This game is easily one of THE BEST RPGs ever made. I played this game for the first time when I was around 10 years old. I am now 18, and I STILL love this game. The game has a great story-line, interesting character line-up, and pretty decent graphics for a PS1 game. Combat system is easy to follow, and the combat stays fresh by integrating not only hand-to-hand combat, but allowing your characters to use their Gears (Giant Mechs, made specifically for combat). 2 Discs long, so there's a lot of game to play. This game is, and will always be, one of my personal favorites overall.

Dan Kaminsky, the security researcher who discovered a major flaw in the DNS protocol last year, said this week that broad adoption of DNS Security Extensions technology may be needed to protect systems, despite its complexity.

Remember when those two satellites collided the other day? Seems that they'll be the space junk gift that keeps on giving, as their 800-km debris orbiting field could hamper all future space launches.

"Future launches will have to be adjusted with regard to the fact that the debris [from the collision] has spread over an 800-km area and will gather at a common orbit in 5-6 years," said Alexander Stepanov, director of the Pulkovo Observatory in St. Petersburg.

According to NASA this massive cloud of human failure joins the 19,000 other objects that currently pollute the low and high orbit space around the planet. As we reported last week, the Hubble Space Telescope is already in danger.

On a related note, anyone who criticized the Pixar movie Wall-E for "liberal bias" or for "unfairly" depicting future humans as slovenly creatures that polluted Earth and space to the point where it was uninhabitable is a dufus. And so ends my personal rant for the day. [Space Fellowship]

The W3C Multimodal Interaction working group has posted the finished recommendation of EMMA: Extensible MultiModal Annotation markup language. According to the abstract, this spec "provides details of an XML markup language for containing and annotating the interpretation of user input. Examples of interpretation of user input are a transcription into words of a raw signal, for instance derived from speech, pen or keystroke input, a set of attribute/value pairs describing their meaning, or a set of attribute/value pairs describing a gesture. The interpretation of the user's input is expected to be generated by signal interpretation processes, such as speech and ink recognition, semantic interpreters, and other types of processors for use by components that act on the user's inputs such as interaction managers."
