Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - ROCK ON, DUDES!
I am 60, my son is 11 and together, we 'Rock the House'!
LOVE THIS GAME, LOVE THE MUSIC (about 50% Aerosmith/ 50% other 'great' stuff!)

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Terribly disappointing
Couldn't wait for this to come out. What a disappointment!!! Guitar Hero III was so much more fun to play. Most of the songs that weren't Aerosmith's were sung by cover bands!! Battle with Joe Perry was too easy and there weren't enough of them. What a waste of my money!!!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Might just be the last great "classic" GH game.
She Sells Sanctuary-The Cult
King of Rock -Run DMC
Bright Light Fright
Nobody's Fault
Walk this way W/DMC
Cat Scratch Fever-Nugent
Sex Type Thing-STP
Mama Kin
Toys in the Attic
Train Kept' Rollin'
Kings and Queens
Rats in the Cellar
Pink
Pandora's Box
these songs as well as some JOE PERRY tunes are also in GH Aerosmith. A band that it turns out makes a prime candidate to center a GH game around. The track list is overall put together with a good eye to keeping the game feeling fresh. The mechanics of the gameplay feel smooth and like GHIII tougher on harder settings. Certain songs like No Surprize, Nobody's Fault and Mama Kin sound great with the soundfx that accompany the song when you are nailing it(think the chorus singing in Rock Band). Basically a classic GH game with a pretty outstanding opening band list and selection of music. The Cult, The Clash, The Black Crowes, (BTW the covers by wavergroup etc sound good as usual.)
With the onset of more complicated Guitar Hero games on the horizon this one might stand the test of time alongside the other PS2 guitar hero games better than we might expect. Better song choice than GH 80s and way more unlockables.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Aerosmith flavored Guitar Hero that doesn't offer too much
Since Activision and Neversoft took control of the Guitar Hero franchise, we've been getting a steady stream of sequels and spin-off's, with Guitar Hero: Aerosmith being the latest game in the series. Featuring a pretty good collection of songs spanning Aerosmith's long career, you'll find that besides adding the Aerosmith-themed presentation, the game itself is basically identical to Guitar Hero III. This isn't really a bad thing, but considering this is a full-priced game, it would have been nice if there would have been a little more overall variations. The track list here is quite good though, with even some bonus tracks from Joe Perry's Joe Perry Project to find and play too, along with some bonus interviews with the band. Getting through the game isn't that much of a challenge though if you're a Guitar Hero veteran, as the game proves to be not all that difficult compared to previous Guitar Hero games. It should also go without saying that if you aren't a fan of Aerosmith, this probably isn't for you. All in all, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith is an enjoyable diversion that fans of the band will get a lot of enjoyment out of for a while, but in the end, the game doesn't offer enough bang for your buck.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Not an Aerosmith fan? PASS on this one!!
I am very disappointed in this edition of Guitar Hero. While I am a luke-warm Aerosmith fan, I found the game pretty boring and the songs completely lame. I have enjoyed every other installment of the Guitar Hero games because of the variety of songs and different guitar styles. In the others, there was something there for everyone. In this edition, unless you are a hardcore Aerosmith fan, it is pretty much all the same. I really thing that the makers of Guitar Hero missed the mark on this one by focusing on a single band. Furthermore, if you were going to focus on a single band, aren't there other artists out there who have a music catalog that is more interesting and offers 'more' of the guitar hero ideal? I don't know that there is any single band that could pull off dedicating an entire video game to themselves.

Unless you are a huge Aerosmith fan, save your money and play the other Guitar Hero installments.
